The Arthur at Westover Place, a three-story residence over street-level storefronts on Forest Hill Avenue

Some collect homes.
Others curate a life.

Thirty one-bedroom residences above Forest Hill Avenue in Westover Hills, Richmond. Arriving 2027.

The address

A new residence on an old corner of Westover Hills.

The Arthur takes its name from Prince Arthur Boulevard, the quiet residential street just west of the building. It sits on the site of the original Westover Place shopping center, with 30 one-bedroom homes on the two floors above new storefronts along Forest Hill Avenue.

You arrive through a lobby finished in warm taupe paneling with brass sconces and a collection of oil portraits gathered from local estate sales and reframed for the building. Corridors carry the same palette in two moods, one warm and one slate blue, so that each floor feels like its own place.

Every residence has a private balcony, either over the avenue or facing the tree line behind the building, and the whole of the neighborhood is a short walk from the front door.

Residences

One-bedroom homes, finished with care.

Thirty residences averaging about 610 square feet, each with a private balcony and full-height glazing. Finishes are chosen to wear well and to feel like a home rather than a model.

Kitchen

Two finish plans. One pairs white upper cabinets with deep blue lowers; the quieter one is white throughout. Both have a natural oak island, aged brass hardware, and a milk-glass pendant over the island.

Bath

Walk-in showers behind clear glass with brass trim, small-format sage tile, a light quartz counter, and a backlit mirror. The same fixtures in every home, chosen once and chosen well.

Living

Side-by-side refrigerators, accent walls, and generous windows onto a recessed balcony framed in warm wood. Every home has outdoor space of its own.

Common spaces

A lobby with mail and package rooms, an elevator, a covered walkway to the rear parking, and 47 spaces for residents and guests along the avenue and behind the building.

Westover Hills

Tree-lined streets, the river, and a corridor you can walk to dinner on.

Westover Hills is one of Richmond's established southside neighborhoods. Forest Hill Park is at the end of the block, the James River Park System trails are minutes beyond it, and Forest Hill Avenue has quietly become one of the city's best runs of local restaurants, coffee, and breweries.

A day here runs on foot. Coffee at Blanchard's before a walk down to the river trails. Saturday groceries at Stella's, or the farmers market in the park. Dinner at Little Nickel or O'Toole's, a nightcap at The Veil, and a quiet evening on the balcony afterward.
